Meeting to Order
1.1 In
the absence of both Co-Chairs, the meeting was called to order by Treasurer,
Marv Copeland. MOTION by Roy
Fenwick, seconded by Jack Dyck, that Marv Copeland chair the meeting. CARRIED.
Committee members were requested to sign
the attendance sheet and roundtable introductions were made.
2. Adoption
of Agenda
2.1 MOTION
by Marv Fried, seconded by Jack Dyck that we adopt the agenda as presented CARRIED.
3. Adoption
of Minutes
3.1 MOTION by Jack Dyck, seconded by Roy
Fenwick to adopt Minutes from previous meeting. CARRIED.
4. Treasurer’s
Report
4.1 Marv
Copeland presented the Treasurers Report. Current bank balance is $9332.65. It was noted that $8470.00 of the
balance are funds Inter-Agency are holding for CESA, leaving an actual
Inter-Agency bank balance of $862.65. Marv advised the audit for the fiscal
year ending
5. Sub-Committee Reports
5.1 SUCCEED - Lori Ann Munro
Lori led a discussion on a weekly newspaper article
opportunity under Community Links. MOTION to move forward with the project
by Tammy Zaretzky-Denischuk,
seconded by Deborah Burnside. CARRIED.
5.2 CESA - Marv Fried

funding from Justice Dept

experiencing some delays to establish Counsellor
- met as a
committee, re-organizing hiring strategy
- using
- short
term pilot project until Mar. 2009
- will
submit for funding for a further year
- hopeful
to have someone in place shortly
- CMHA is
offering facilities for Counsellor to meet with clients

"Stop
Sex with Kids Campaign" will launch
- hand out
literature, posters
- health
facilities, library to be a target point
5.3 FASD - Donna-Jean Slack (report by Marv
Fried)
- goal for
next meeting is to re-establish the focus of the committee
- FASD
training scheduled for Feb. 2 & 3, 2009 at SVRSS
- open to
the public, service providers, teachers.

5.4 Better Beginnings - Sharon Glasscock

- Shake
rattle and roll - 8 week session - 14 kids
- National
Parent Coalition - 5 people attending EDI presentation.
5.5 Homelessness Initiative - Marv Fried

Progressed into final stages - proposal sent to Services Canada - on its way to
- Blue prints in place, Project Manager in place,
- Gone
through tendering process - Thursday deadline - Friday tenders will be selected
and contractors notified.
- Most are
local contractors - may create winter employment opportunities
- Awaiting start date from Service Canada.
